Honda unveiled its second all-electric vehicle, the e:Ny1, at the European media event in Offenbach, Germany. Following Honda's popular city car, it is the brand's second all-electric vehicle to be launched in the region and is designed to meet growing customer demand for all-electric B-segment SUVs. Next up is the e:Ny1, which is state-of-the-art Honda's human-centric philosophy, harnessing the model's all-electric powertrain to offer fun SUV driving dynamics, a smooth, refined ride and intuitive versatility. The bold and refined exterior aesthetic is the result of a short front overhang, large wheels and a wide track. The e:Ny1 also showcases an all-new Honda electric identity with a white 'H' badge surrounding the vehicle, including the badge on the nose, hubcaps and handlebars. Also, the new font means "Honda"; on the tailgate for a luxurious look that will be used in the brand's future electric cars. Clever placement of electric powertrain components means the Honda e:Ny1 offers remarkable interior space and comfort.

The all-new center console features a simple layout of easy-to-reach buttons, multiple storage options and wireless charging, while the sleek dashboard offers access to a full range of infotainment and control options with a large 15.1-inch touchscreen. The e:Ny1 is based on Honda's new e:N F-Architecture, a front-engined platform that focuses on three main features: a special body structure with high rigidity, a low center of gravity and carefully designed underbody aerodynamics in order to to ensure this SUV is fun and safe to drive. The platform also includes a powerful, lightweight three-in-one drive unit, electric motor and gearbox. It produces a maximum power of 150 kW, a torque of 310 Nm and ensures smooth and comfortable acceleration and deceleration. Under the floor is a high-capacity lithium-ion battery that offers a range of up to 412 km (WLTP) and fast DC charging that can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 45 minutes.

The all-new chassis, specially developed for battery electric vehicles, offers improved torsional rigidity. Key to this is high-strength steel, with 47% of the body making up e:Ny1 (weight). With their new platform and powertrain, they deliver the dynamic performance, exceptional comfort and elegance that drivers have come to expect from Honda's latest electric vehicle. "E:Ny1 is the next logical step on our journey towards electrification in Europe"; said Tom Gardner, senior vice president of Honda Motor Europe Ltd. “Our development philosophy combines intelligent, customer-oriented technology with elegant design and pleasant driving dynamics.
