Bugatti Brouillard 2025

For over a century, Bugatti has been a symbol of craftsmanship, performance, and design excellence. The art of coachbuilding runs deep in the brand’s DNA—from the revolutionary automotive designs of Jean Bugatti to the expressive sculptures of Rembrandt Bugatti. Today, that heritage is reimagined in Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire, an ultra-exclusive initiative dedicated to creating truly bespoke, one-of-one hypercars that blend cutting-edge engineering with artistic expression.

Introducing Brouillard: The First Creation of Bugatti Programme Solitaire

Brouillard, the inaugural model of the Programme Solitaire, represents a new era of personalized automotive design. It goes beyond even Bugatti's highly customized Sur Mesure offerings. This bespoke Bugatti coupé pays tribute to Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse—Brouillard, a graceful and intelligent companion capable of opening his own stable door thanks to a special mechanism designed by Ettore himself.

Brouillard the car captures the essence of this legendary steed: a thoroughbred with a snow-white coat and misty markings, embodying speed, elegance, and individuality. In both name and design, the vehicle honors Bugatti’s founding vision of beauty, precision, and mechanical innovation.

A Return to Bugatti’s Coachbuilding Roots

Programme Solitaire draws inspiration from Bugatti’s early 20th-century coachbuilding heritage, when iconic bodies were crafted through close collaboration between manufacturers and master artisans. Jean Bugatti elevated this practice by internalizing the process, resulting in timeless models like the Type 57 SC Atlantic and other distinguished versions including the Galibier, Stelvio, Ventoux, and Atalante.

With Brouillard, Bugatti returns to this legacy in modern form—offering custom-built hypercars on existing high-performance platforms, while allowing for entirely unique exterior and interior executions.

W16 Engineering Excellence Meets Artistic Design

Built on the final evolution of Bugatti’s legendary W16 platform, Brouillard features the 1,600 PS quad-turbocharged engine—a culmination of nearly 20 years of engineering refinement. Every design element is guided by principles of classical proportion, with a dark lower body that grounds the vehicle visually and an ethereal upper silhouette that feels both lighter and more dynamic.

The aerodynamic design is seamlessly integrated:

  • Functional air intakes enhance cooling efficiency via pressure drop technology.

  • A fixed ducktail rear wing provides downforce and elegance.

  • The rear diffuser optimizes aerodynamic performance through advanced exhaust integration.

This attention to balance and functionality ensures that Brouillard delivers both extraordinary beauty and track-worthy performance.

Interior Craftsmanship: Where Tradition Meets Innovation

Inside, Brouillard is a showcase of luxury materials and artisan detail. Highlights include:

  • Custom-woven tartan fabrics from Paris.

  • Green-tinted exposed carbon fiber.

  • Precision-machined aluminum accents.

  • A panoramic glass roof offering a cathedral-like ambiance.

A central design feature—the spine—extends from the exterior into the cabin, visible through the transparent roof panel and uniting the design from every angle.

Every interior element is handcrafted to the owner’s specifications.

  • The gear shifter, milled from a single block of aluminum, features an embedded glass insert housing a miniature sculpture of Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse.

  • Embroidered horse motifs decorate the door panels and seat backrests.

  • The seats themselves are custom-molded and upholstered with a unique multi-panel leather design.

Commissioned by a True Bugatti Collector

Brouillard was commissioned by a passionate collector with deep appreciation for the Bugatti legacy—not only its historic vehicles, but also the furniture of Carlo Bugatti and sculptures of Rembrandt Bugatti. This collector sought to unify the Bugatti family’s artistic and mechanical achievements in a single, cohesive masterpiece, celebrating Ettore’s enduring passion for horses and innovation.

Programme Solitaire: A New Chapter in Bespoke Automotive Excellence

Programme Solitaire will produce a maximum of two custom-built Bugatti vehicles per year, each a singular work of art that receives the full attention of the brand’s design and engineering teams. Like Brouillard, future commissions will utilize existing Bugatti powertrains and chassis, while allowing for fully individualized bodywork and interiors.

The Bugatti Brouillard will make its official debut during the 2025 Monterey Car Week, heralding the beginning of a bold new chapter in Bugatti’s story—where heritage meets haute couture, and no two creations will ever be the same.
