Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS – The New Era of Performance Hybrid Sports Cars

The new Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS represents a major evolution of the iconic 911 lineup, combining legendary sports car performance with innovative hybrid technology. For the first time ever, Porsche introduces a street-legal 911 equipped with a lightweight performance hybrid system, delivering more power, faster acceleration, improved efficiency, and enhanced driving dynamics.

Powered by a newly developed 3.6-litre boxer engine paired with Porsche’s advanced T-Hybrid system, the new 911 Carrera GTS produces an impressive 541 PS and 610 Nm of torque. The result is breathtaking performance, with the 911 Carrera GTS Coupé accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds and reaching a top speed of 312 km/h.

Revolutionary T-Hybrid Performance Technology

Inspired directly by motorsport engineering, Porsche developed an innovative lightweight hybrid system specifically designed for the 911 platform. The advanced electric exhaust gas turbocharger integrates an electric motor between the compressor and turbine wheel, eliminating turbo lag and delivering immediate boost pressure for faster throttle response.

The hybrid system also includes a permanent magnet synchronous motor integrated into the upgraded 8-speed PDK transmission, adding up to 150 Nm of additional torque and boosting performance with 40 kW of electric power.

Despite its hybrid technology, the new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS gains only 50 kilograms over its predecessor, maintaining the agile handling and driving purity expected from the legendary 911.

Enhanced Engine Performance and Driving Dynamics

At the heart of the new GTS sits a completely redesigned 3.6-litre flat-six boxer engine featuring:

  • Enlarged displacement
  • Electrically driven air-conditioning compressor
  • Advanced VarioCam technology
  • Improved fuel-air efficiency
  • Compact high-voltage architecture

Even without electric support, the engine generates 485 PS and 570 Nm of torque. Combined system output reaches 541 PS, making it one of the most powerful and responsive Carrera GTS models ever built.

The standard Porsche 911 Carrera also receives significant upgrades, now powered by an improved 3.0-litre twin-turbo boxer engine producing 394 PS and 450 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, with a top speed of 294 km/h.

Optimised Suspension and Rear-Axle Steering

Porsche has extensively upgraded the suspension system of the new 911 Carrera GTS for sharper handling and improved stability. Rear-axle steering now comes standard, increasing agility at lower speeds while enhancing stability during high-speed driving.

The revised Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system lowers ride height by 10 mm, while the integrated Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) delivers more precise cornering performance and reduced body roll.

New aerodynamic wheel designs and wider rear tyres further improve traction, efficiency, and overall driving dynamics.

New Aerodynamic Exterior Design

The redesigned exterior of the new Porsche 911 combines classic styling with modern aerodynamic efficiency. Key updates include:

  • Matrix LED headlights with integrated lighting functions
  • Active cooling air flaps
  • Adaptive front diffusers
  • Redesigned rear light strip with integrated PORSCHE logo
  • Updated front and rear bumpers
  • Optional HD Matrix LED headlights with over 32,000 light points

The optional Aero Kit enhances performance even further with a fixed rear wing, SportDesign front bumper, and improved aerodynamic balance for track-focused driving.

Fully Digital Interior and Advanced Connectivity

Inside the cockpit, Porsche blends traditional 911 design with cutting-edge digital technology. Highlights include:

  • Fully digital 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster
  • 10.9-inch Porsche Communication Management (PCM) touchscreen
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Enhanced Apple CarPlay® integration
  • Native Spotify® and Apple Music® apps
  • Optional 2+2 seating configuration

For the first time, the 911 features a fully digital driver display with multiple customisable layouts inspired by classic Porsche instruments.
