The All-New BMW X5: A New Benchmark for Premium Sports Activity Vehicles

The original BMW Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) enters a new era with the introduction of the all-new fifth-generation BMW X5. Combining a bold new design with the advanced technologies of the Neue Klasse, the latest BMW X5 builds on more than 25 years of success while setting new standards for versatility, innovation and sustainable mobility.

Since its debut in 1999, the BMW X5 has consistently defined the premium SAV segment. The fifth-generation model continues this legacy as the first BMW vehicle engineered to support five distinct powertrain technologies within a single global model range, including hydrogen fuel cell technology.

Alongside a highly efficient 48-volt mild hybrid diesel variant and plug-in hybrid models, the new BMW X5 is available for the first time as a fully electric model, the BMW iX5. Equipped with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology and new high-density cylindrical battery cells, the BMW iX5 delivers an impressive WLTP range of up to 525 miles in the xDrive60 variant, while supporting ultra-fast DC charging at up to 460 kW. Selected global markets will also offer a petrol-powered derivative.

Completing the model range is the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, the brand's first series-production hydrogen-powered vehicle. Combining BMW's third-generation fuel cell system, innovative BMW Hydrogen Flat Storage technology and a high-voltage battery, the BMW iX5 Hydrogen offers a driving range of up to 466 miles while delivering locally emission-free mobility with rapid refuelling capability.

Contemporary Design with Distinctive BMW Character

The new BMW X5 introduces an entirely new design language that combines the unmistakable proportions of a BMW Sports Activity Vehicle with the clean, modern aesthetics of the Neue Klasse.

Its powerful, monolithic appearance is defined by an upright front fascia featuring the illuminated BMW Iconic Glow vertical kidney grille and newly developed switchable "double-X" daytime running light signature. The sculpted side profile incorporates a flowing roofline, pronounced wheel arches and flush soft-close doors fitted with innovative BMW Winglet door handles, which can also operate optional powered doors.

At the rear, broad shoulders, a recessed glasshouse that enhances aerodynamic efficiency and slim, intricately designed taillights extending across almost the full width of the vehicle create a confident and unmistakable presence.

A Driver-Focused Premium Interior

The interior has been completely redesigned to provide a cleaner, more spacious and technologically advanced environment centred around the driver.

Premium natural materials create a sophisticated atmosphere, with slate introduced for the first time as an interior decorative surface by an automotive manufacturer. Glass detailing and model-specific X-pattern stitching across the doors and dashboard further reinforce the vehicle's premium character.

The new wraparound cockpit showcases BMW Panoramic iDrive, seamlessly integrating the free-standing Central Display, BMW Panoramic Vision, BMW 3D Head-Up Display and multifunction steering wheel. An optional BMW Passenger Screen also makes its debut on the X5, further enhancing the digital experience for front-seat occupants.

Standard equipment includes a panoramic glass roof and newly designed Sports seats with enhanced quilting. Optional multifunction seats offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, upholstered in premium BMW Individual Merino Leather. Newly designed steering wheels incorporate discreet haptic controls that enable intuitive operation while allowing drivers to keep their hands on the wheel.

Additional optional equipment includes four-zone automatic climate control, heated rear seats, front-seat ventilation and an 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with Dolby Atmos. Rear passengers also benefit from an enhanced Travel & Comfort system featuring optional magnetic device holders integrated into the front seatbacks.
