Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary Private Collection
Celebrating 100 Years of the World’s Most Iconic Luxury Motor Car
For a century, the Rolls-Royce Phantom has stood as the ultimate symbol of success, influence, and refined taste. Chosen by the world’s most powerful figures, Phantom has defined luxury motoring for 100 years. To commemorate this historic milestone, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presents the Phantom Centenary Private Collection—an ultra-exclusive series limited to just 25 motor cars worldwide.
A Century of Legacy, Interpreted by Rolls-Royce Bespoke
The Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective—designers, engineers, and master artisans—crafted this collection as their definitive masterpiece. Immersing themselves in Phantom’s history from the 1920s to the present day, they studied each generation’s spirit, its most defining owners, landmark moments, and the places where Phantom was conceived and built.
These insights were first expressed as 77 hand-sketched motifs, later transformed into extraordinary Bespoke features. The result is a collection that honours Phantom’s past, defines its present, and projects its future for the next 100 years.
Exterior Design: A Bespoke Statement of Timeless Elegance
Inspired by the glamour of the golden age of Hollywood, the Phantom Centenary Private Collection recalls an era when Phantom arrived at red-carpet premieres and chauffeured cinema icons.
Bespoke two-tone paintwork with a long-side application inspired by 1930s Phantoms
Super Champagne Crystal over Arctic White (lower body) and Super Champagne Crystal over Black (upper body)
A specially developed metallic finish infused with champagne-coloured crushed glass particles for exceptional depth and shimmer
Spirit of Ecstasy: Reimagined in Gold
Crowning the iconic Pantheon grille is a unique Spirit of Ecstasy, inspired by the very first figurine ever fitted to a Phantom:
Cast in solid 18-carat gold, plated in 24-carat gold
Officially hallmarked with a bespoke “Phantom Centenary” mark
Finished with hand-poured white vitreous enamel
For the first time in Rolls-Royce history, the ‘RR’ Badge of Honour is presented in 24-carat gold and white enamelacross the vehicle.
Phantom Disc Wheels
Each disc wheel is engraved with 25 lines, representing the 25 cars in the collection—100 lines in total, marking the centenary year.
Interior: Immersed in the Phantom Legend
Inside, the Phantom Centenary Private Collection unfolds a century of stories through extraordinary materials, innovative craftsmanship, and archival storytelling.
The cabin echoes early Phantoms by combining:
Hardwearing leather in the chauffeur’s compartment
Luxurious textiles in the rear passenger suite
This contrast reflects Phantom’s enduring balance of command and serenity.
Rear Seats: Tailoring Excellence and Storytelling Craft
Inspired by the legendary 1926 “Phantom of Love”, the rear seats feature a three-layer narrative textile:
High-resolution printed background depicting historic locations and artefacts
Illustrated historic Phantoms rendered in fine detail
Embroidery layer abstractly representing seven significant Phantom owners
Developed over 12 months with a haute couture atelier, the fabric features:
Specially adapted inks for longevity
Over 160,000 stitches using “sketch-like” embroidery techniques
45 individual panels, hand-aligned using Savile Row-inspired tailoring methods
This is the most intricate seat design ever created by Rolls-Royce.
Front Seats: A Driver-Focused Design Statement
The front seat leathers feature laser-etched artwork derived from hand sketches, celebrating Phantom’s engineering heritage. Hidden motifs include:
A rabbit, referencing “Roger Rabbit,” the codename for Rolls-Royce’s 2003 relaunch
A seagull, symbolising the 1923 Phantom I prototype
Anthology Gallery: 100 Years of Acclaim
The centrepiece of the cabin is the Anthology Gallery, a sculptural installation composed of:
50 vertically brushed aluminium fins
Sculpted quotes from a century of global press acclaim
Ambient illumination reminiscent of fireworks
The layered reflections evolve as the viewer moves, creating a living artwork.
Woodwork: The Most Intricate Ever Created by Rolls-Royce
Rendered in stained Blackwood, the Phantom Centenary features the brand’s most complex woodcraft to date. The door panels depict Phantom’s most defining journeys, combining:
Laser etching at multiple depths
3D ink layering
24-carat gold leaf detailing
Key Locations Depicted:
Le Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer, Southern France (Sir Henry Royce’s winter retreat)
West Wittering, England (his summer residence)
The 4,500-mile Australian crossing by the first Goodwood-era Phantom
Gold-leaf roads—crafted from sheets just 0.1 micrometres thick—trace these journeys, while native flora and Royce’s own oil paintings are translated from canvas to wood.
The wood seamlessly transitions into embroidered leather panels, where gold-leaf roads continue as golden thread embroidery, uniting materials and eras.
Engineering Excellence: A Golden Legacy
Powering the Phantom Centenary is the legendary 6.75-litre V12 engine, honoured with:
A bespoke Arctic White engine cover
24-carat gold detailing, celebrating Phantom’s effortless power and refinement
Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary: Defining the Next 100 Years
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Centenary Private Collection is more than a luxury motor car—it is a rolling tribute to craftsmanship, heritage, and timeless prestige. Limited to just 25 examples, it stands as one of the most significant Bespoke commissions in Rolls-Royce history and a defining statement for the next century of Phantom excellence.
