The all-new Renault Twingo E-Tech EV marks the return of one of Europe’s most iconic city cars — now fully electric, smarter, cheaper, and built for modern urban life.
Originally launched in 1992, the Twingo became famous for its playful design, compact size, and surprisingly spacious interior. Now Renault is bringing that spirit back with a bold electric reboot designed to make EVs affordable for everyone.
Priced at under €20,000, the new Twingo E-Tech EV is aimed at drivers who want a compact, practical, and stylish city car without paying premium EV prices. Despite its small footprint, it offers impressive space, sliding rear seats, a modular interior, and up to 360 litres of boot capacity — features rarely seen in this segment.
Powered by an 82 hp electric motor and a 27.5 kWh LFP battery, the Twingo delivers up to 263 km of WLTP range while keeping energy consumption low. Renault says the car was engineered specifically for urban mobility, with agile handling, a tiny turning circle, and One Pedal driving for smoother city traffic.
Inside, the car combines retro personality with modern technology. Drivers get dual digital screens, Google built-in with OpenR Link, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Renault’s AI-powered Reno assistant. Advanced features like adaptive cruise control, hands-free parking, rear cross-traffic alert, and bidirectional charging push the Twingo far beyond what buyers usually expect from a small city car.
Renault also focused heavily on sustainability and efficiency. The Twingo was developed in just 100 weeks — the fastest vehicle development project in Renault history — and will be produced in Europe at Renault’s Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia.
With its cheerful design, affordable price, smart tech, and practical everyday usability, the new Twingo E-Tech EV could completely redefine the small electric car market in Europe.
